About this paycheck calculator
A paycheck is your gross salary divided across the year's pay periods, minus withholding. The big pieces are federal income tax (progressive brackets on your taxable income after the standard deduction) and FICA — 6.2% Social Security up to the wage base plus 1.45% Medicare. Pre-tax deductions like a traditional 401(k) reduce your taxable income; post-tax deductions like Roth contributions come straight out of the net.
This calculator uses the published 2025 IRS figures to produce a pay-stub style breakdown per period and per year. It estimates a W-2 employee taking the standard deduction — it excludes tax credits, extra withholdings and local taxes, and state tax is a flat rate you supply. It is an estimate, not tax advice, and not affiliated with ADP, Inc.

Is this the official ADP paycheck calculator?
No — it is an independent paycheck calculator and is not affiliated with or endorsed by ADP, Inc. "ADP" is a popular search term for paycheck calculators. It uses published IRS figures for its estimates.
How is a paycheck calculated?
Your gross salary is divided by the number of pay periods, then federal income tax (2025 brackets after the standard deduction), Social Security (6.2%) and Medicare (1.45%) are withheld. Pre-tax deductions reduce the taxable amount; post-tax deductions come out of the net.
Which pay frequencies are supported?
Weekly (52 paychecks), bi-weekly (26), semi-monthly (24), monthly (12) and annually — pick one and the breakdown updates per period.
Does it include state tax?
As an optional flat rate you enter, since every state differs. Leave it blank for no-income-tax states like Texas or Florida. Local taxes are not included.
